Cairo / Egypt

Cairo is the capital of Egypt and the largest city of Africa. It lies at the crossroads between Africa and the Orient. 7,7 million inhabitants live there.North of the city extends the Nile Delta to the Mediterranean. To the west are the pyramids of Giza. To the south lies the old Memphis.
Cairo has been several times destroyed and rebuilt during its history.

Where to start, where to stop with attractions in a city like Cairo ? A tour respectively a guided walk through the old town should be on the program, as well as the tour of the Alabaster Mosque and the mosque Ahmed ibn Tulun built in 879 , the largest mosque in Cairo and the third largest in the world. Who wants to have a view over the whole town, should go to the observation deck of the 187-meter-high Cairo Tower. A visit to the Egyptian Museum should neither be missing nor a stroll through the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, where traditional leatherwork, brassware and hand-sewn dresses are offered. Experienced visitors in Cairo say that at least three days are required for a tour of all the sights.
