Fort Lauderdale, Florida / USA East Coast
Fort Lauderdale is due its numerous canals the water capital of the United States and is also called "the Venice of America".
Highly recommended is a city tour by water taxi as well as a visit to the International Swimming Hall of Fame Complex. Here is an interesting collection about the history of the swimming sport. For a visit also invites the oldest house in Fort Lauderdale: the Stranahan House on New River, built in 1901 as a trading post, it is now a museum.
The Old Fort Lauderdale Museum of History, which deals with local historical art, is home to the Museum of Art and the Museum of Discovery and Science.
