Gustavia, St. Barthélemy (Lesser Antilles) / Caribbean

Gustavia, the capital of St. Barth's belonged to Sweden in the 18th century, for a period of time. The city owes its name to the then King Gustav III. The cityscape of Gustavia is characterised by small stone and wooden houses. Countless exclusive boutiques and tax free luxury shops invite to a shopping spree. Towards the evening the brisk centre lures to a stop at numerous restaurants and bars. The sights of Gustavia are apart from the "Wall House", the historical museum of Saint Barth and the old bell tower. A spectacular view over the island can be enjoyed from Fort Gustave.
