Laem Chabang (Bangkok) / Thailand

Laem Chabang is one of the ports in the Thai capital of Bangkok, on the river Menam in the immediate vicinity of the Gulf of Siam.

The metropolis of Bangkok is a highlyvibrant and modern city whose attractions can in no way be coped with during a single day if only because the progress in the impenetrable traffic is an art in itself. But who lunges with courage in the bustling city, will experience much of  Bangkok's unique charm. Alone a stroll or a walk through any part of the city is an experience. You can visit the numerous temples, some, however, only by appointment. Thus the Wat Suthat has remained a secret tip with statues of all kinds, but mainly Buddha images. The Giant Swing, too, a bright red swing for festive customs is there.
But most famous is certainly the Wat Phra Kaew which stands next to a Royal Palace (Grand Palace). There you can see the "Emerald Buddha, a Buddha statue made of jade, even if the name suggests emerald . Since the royal palace today is still used for festive ceremonies, the access is possible only with appropriate clothing.
The famous reclining Buddha with signs inlaid in its feet mark is located in Wat Po. But also the more than 400 other figures there from all eras there are interesting. The weary visitor is offered here a very Asian form of relaxation from the city bustle: all sorts of traditional massages at reasonable prices are offered. For returning visitor to Bangkok further recommended are the Wat Arun with its particularly high towers, the Wat Saket a little outside, but for compensation overlooking the city and the Wat Benchamabopit made of marble.
