Langkawi / Malaysia
Langkawi lies off the northwest coast of Malaysia, where the Indian Ocean narrows into the Strait of Melacca. To the north extends from there the Andaman Sea.
Langkawi is the main island and also the name of an archipelago of around 100 limestone islands in the Andaman Sea south of the Thai southern border. The entire island is pretty well served by roads. Interesting are e.g. the black sand beach in the north, the mangrove swamp area in the east, the southeast Coast where the Malay tourist feeling has been preserved or the southeast point with monkeys on the headland.
