Loreto, Baja California / Mexico
The town of Loreto is located in the southern part of the coast of Baja, a kind of peninsula, in the far wester of Mexico. The town was founded already in the 17th century. And is today is the center of the coast, wherefrom tours to the offshore islands can be made.
Around the port of the town several shops offer equipment for fishermen, divers and snorkelers as well as for surfers. The underwater landscape is extremely diverseand already from the shore you can see sea lions, dolphins and whales. In the city itself at the time of the founding the first mission church that exists today was built. In addition, in all locations delectable dishes are offered that can be eaten without concerns as the Mexican food (as well as the local beer) adds no additives or chemicals. The surrounding area is mostly desert, but which offers treasures albeit with a little patience. Here you can horseride or just enjoy from a hill the landscape.
