Pago Pago, Tutuila / American Samoa
The village of Pago Pago belongs to the state of Samoa, which is part of the USA, in the middle of the South Seas. There it lies on the island of Tutuila, the largest of the island group, on a bay in the east of the island. The port is considered the safest port of the South Seas. Impressive is the landscape around the place, while the place itself is very original, which makes out its charm. Proverbial is almost the friendliness of the inhabitants.
Interesting is the Museum Jean P. Haydon in the city and the courthouse. In the vicinity the imposing Mount Alava National Park wherefrom magnificent views of the port emerge. In the harbor itself, it is usually quite dirty, but otherwise there are beautiful beaches for swimming and snorkeling as Fagatele Bay and a huge and amazing nature with dense vegetation and barren rock formations.
