Piesport / Germany
The small town of Piesport is picturesquely located on a landmark in a Moselle Loop. The pier is located in the west of the village. The wine town is particularly well-known for two things: for the steep position of the surrounding slopes ( "gold droplets") and therefore the good wine-making conditions and for its long history dating back to the Roman era.
In the city you will always find remnants from the Roman period. Above all the Via Ausonia leads through Piesport, an old Roman main road. In addition visit a wine cellar and learn more about the cultivation of wine. Nearby the Church of St. Michael can also to be visited. It has an interior from the rococo era. A must is also a visit to the Moselloreley in the east of the village wherefrom you can have a beautiful view of the landscape. A visit to a wine shop or a so-called ostrich farm are also a must.
