Ponta Delgada is the largest city of the Azore Islands in the Atlantic and is located on the island of São Miguel. Here is the port for export and for passenger navigation, which attracts countless tourists from America and Europe every year. You will see the impressive Forte de São Braz at right upon entry.
Already from the harbor you will come to the harbor promenade, which has a very urban yet beautiful flair. It is not far to the city center, it goes through small streets. Most of the city is quite exhausting, there are only a few streets that are not fully parked and where one can stroll peacefully. Nevertheless, there are always some historic buildings to see. They include the Baroque Town Hall, Sao Jose Church, the Nossa Senhora da Esperanca Church, the Colegio de Todos-os-Santos Church and many more. You will discover easily them as you stroll through the city. Do not let the hustle and bustle around throw you offtrack.. And if it's getting too much, stop at a cafe or head into the environs where you can experience the Azores as they are in their nature and landscape, beautiful and fantastically relaxing. Here you can dive, swim, watch dolphins on the coast or by the crater lakes inland discover the landscape and the animal world.
