Puerto Madryn / Argentina
Puerto Madryn is a city in a bay off the Valdés peninsula in Argentina. Both the city as well as the surrounding countryside are a real eye-catcher. The Patagonian high plains are beautiful just as the long beaches or the marine world. Puerto Madryn is a real jewel.
In Puerto Madryn itself, architecture is particularly worth seeing, which is characterized by many influences and rich in various styles and materials. The old hotel (28 de Julio 147), the old harbor quay and the train station are good examples.
It is best to start a small tour of the city. Already on the Avenida Gales are remains of the ship that brought the freedom fighter Don José de San Martín to Puerto Madryn. Also the monument Indio Tehuelche is worth seeing. From here you have a nice view over the city and you can also reach the Punta Loma, where many sea lions are at home.
There are also some museums (for art or science).
And for those who prefer to relax, there are beautiful beaches in the area where one can occasionally also see the one or the other whale.
