Raiatea, Society Islands / Polynesia
Raiatea is one of the largest islands in the South Seas. The possibilities to explore the island are almost limitless, but only a few tourists get lost here. The island has remained a secret tip. Capital is Uturoa with over 10,000 inhabitants.
From water sports to recreation, hiking or simply shopping, the island has everything to offer. The new port facility is to be mentioned as regards concrete sights. A new meeting place has been established here around the restaurants.
Trips around the island are also recommended, best by car and guide. The Taputapuatea Temple is particularly well-known, as it is one of the largest sites of French Polynesia. Also Mount Tefatua is worth a visit. However, there are many other destinations around the island, both on land and in the water, which will meet you on their own.
