Rio de Janeiro / Brazil
Rio de Janeiro is a legend! The city is located on the Bay of Guanabara and has over 6 million inhabitants, in the catchment area of the city even over 11 million. So in one day it is hard to explore what Rio has to offer - the tingling mixture of bubbling Brazilian cities, historical culture and imposing nature.
Fortunately, the city has a dense network of public transport. Thus, for example, the famous Christ of the Corcovado mountain can be reached by cable car. From there, one has not only the whole city in view, but also the landmark of Rio: the Sugar Loaf Mountain. This almost 400-m- high granite block can also be "climbed" by cable car.
But even in the city itself there is much to discover - no wonder in a city of this size. At the Praça Floriano there are many bars and cafes and the impressive theater with its marble arcades. There is also the Calendaria church from the colonial period next to the Ufo-shaped art museum. Relaxation lovers will find rest at one of the pure white beaches by the clear sea. Whatever you choose, Rio will impress you, and you will always want to return here.
