Do not miss a visit to the 150-year-old wooden convent, Youqson Kyaung. The carved ceilings and figures tell stories from the life of Buddha and the Indian National Park Ramayana. The monastery Thadanayaunggyi Kyaung also houses a number of very interesting wood carvings. In the Mogok Vipassana Yeiktha Meditation Center from the 19th century stands a 3-m-high imposing Buddha statue.
