St. Kitts / Caribbean

St. Kitts is a small island belonging to the Lesser Antilles, specifically the Leeward Islands. There is a capital Basseterre (17,000 inhabitants) on the island, mountainous nature with ravines and several beaches such as Turtle Beach, Sand Bank Bay and Friar's Bay.

The beaches of St. Kitts are not necessarily among the most beautiful Caribbean beaches. They are rather coarse (as volcanic in origin), the sea is wild, and also diving is surely more pleasurable in other placee. Occasionally monkeys frolic on Turtle Beach. St Kitts is worth a trip nevertheless. The city very pretty, there are some churches and the beautiful Pall Mall Square. If you have more time, you can visit St. Kitts Sugar Factory. By train you can reach the plantations and even try a rum tasting. Also, walks through the lush nature are very nice. Tropical flora and always the typical monkeys you will discover.
