Stolpe / Germany
The small village of Stolpe lies on the river Oder and belongs to the municipality of Angermünde. Approximately 400 people live in Stolpe. Located in the Odertal, the city is surrounded by the Oder slopes, on which towers a castle ruin and the polder systems of the Oder.
In the village itself is the former castle, which is now used as a children home. But the Turmburg Stolpe is really worth seeing. It was built in the 12th century and is actually made up of two different burial sites. The mighty Burgfried still stands and gives the visitor a magnificent view over the place and the polder landscape on the Oder.
