The city of Yangon is located on the Gulf of Bengal at the mouth of the Irawadi and has about 5 million inhabitants. The town is rather known as Ragoon, and was formerly called Dagon. It is considered the cleanest city in Asia. Today, the city is often visited for its large number of pagodas and for the beautiful parks.
One of the greatest attractions is the Shwedagon Pagoda, nearly a hundred feet high, with a golden dome and an estimated 2,500 years. The Kaba Aye Pagoda was built,however, in the 20th century. Other interesting pagodas are the Sule Pagoda and the Botataung Pagoda. Further, you can visit a museum, which exhibits the works of art of all time, as well as a zoo, a wildlife park and many more attractions. The vibrant city will always meet you in an interesting way.
