Gratuities and service charge on board of Holland America Line
The crew of Holland America Line is working hard to ensure that every aspect of your cruise meets the highest standards. This includes both the crew members who assist you directly, for example the service staff in the dining room, as well as the employees who perform every day cabin service. In addition, there are many other employees who do their work in the background, so you will never see them, including the staff of the galley and the laundry. For the efforts of the crew members to be recognized and rewarded accordingly, the onboard account of all guests is automatically charged with a daily gratuity.
The gratuity for the 2019 Grand World Voyage is $ 15.00 per guest per day for suites  and $ 13.50 per guest per day for all other staterooms (Prices are subject to change without notice). For all other travels the gratuity is $ 16.00 per guest per day for suites and $ 14.50 per guest per day for all other staterooms (Prices are subject to change without notice).
If the service exceeds your expectations or does not meet them, you can adjust this amount at your discretion at the end of the cruise respectively adjust it for the individual cruise segments. The gratuity is handed out to the members of the crew of Holland America Line and is an essential part of their salary. A 15% service charge will be automatically added to your bar and wine purchases in the dining room. At airport gates as well as at airports, ports of call and during shore excursions, it is recommended to pay the customary local gratuity.

For all drinks and spa treatments purchased on board, a service charge of 15 % will be added.

Please note that the gratuity recommendation (gratuity regulation) as well the service charge regulation do not automatically become part of the contract, but only after a separate confirmation by the consumer (customer). Therefore, prior to booking the voyage, the consent of the consumer (customer) is requested.
