Cape Breton Isand has a size of 10,311 sq km, 135 km wide and 175 km long. On Cape Breton Island live 166 poeple. 116 of whom around 70 per cent live in Cape Breton County Land.
The city Baddeck enjoys a wonderful location, along the shores of Bras d'Or Lakes. A variety of recreational activities, such as tennis, hiking, guided kayaking in the sea and bike hikes offer an interesting change. Baddeck was the adopted home of the famous inventor and teacher Alexander Graham Bell. The Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site is located in the eastern part of Baddeck and exhibits the largest collection of artifacts about the life of Bell.
Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, is a rocky and rugged island at the far end of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Cape Breton Island is one of the most remote regions of the province and has an interesting mix of cliffs, mountains, valleys, rivers and lakes. The major land masses, in the northern part of the island is in fact the highest point of the entire Atlantic region.
