Dundee has a port through through which connects the traffic with the oil fields in the North Sea. This makes it the second most important industrial center of Scotland. Of economic importance next to the machine industry is the textile industry and the electrical industry. Dundee is the fourth largest medieval town in Scotland. It lies on the northern banks of the Tay and is an ideal starting point for trips. Great shops sell typical local products, crafts and paintings.
