Gizo Island / Polynesia
Gizo is a place in the island nation of the Solomon Islands, located on the island of Ghizo in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, 380 km northwest of the capital Honiara. It is the capital and largest city of the province of Western. Not far from here is the Kennedy Island where in 1943 John F. Kennedy was stranded with his crew after its torpedo boat was sunk by the Japanese.
Due to its rich tropical marine life and numerous shipwrecks from World War II, Gizo is a true paradise for divers.
