Arrecife is the most important port of Lanzarote. The black sandy beaches from igneous rocks are the landmark of Lanzarote. There is a strong wind which attracts surfers in Arrecife.
Casablanca is the most important commercial and industrial center of Morocco, the largest port of North Africa and the largest city with about 1.2 million inhabitants. Casablanca is today a modern city with a few old buildings, influenced by French colonialism - with wide boulevards and French-inspired townhouses from the 30 and 40 years, supplemented by skyscrapers and buildings in new Oriental style.
Among the objects of interest in and around Funchal is the flower, vegetable and fish market, Monte, where the tomb of the last Austrian Emperor Charles of Habsburg lies. The trip by basket sleigh from Monte to Livramento is just as recommendable as a visit to the botanic gardens.
The birthplace of Christoph Columbus was in 2004 European Capital of Culture. Pomp facades and palaces testify to Genoa's glorious past.

Gibraltar is a city built in the Regency style of the 18th century. It was erected on the ruins of an old Spanish city that in its turn was erected on the ruins of a Moorish city from the 12th century. Especially worth seeing is the St. Michael's Cave that lies in 300 m altitude above the sea level, here and in the Leonora's Cave ballet performances and concerts are nowadays put on stage. The Upper Galleries were 1782 carved in stone and represent old canons as well as images of the "Great Siege" (1779-1783). The Apes' Den is inhabited by the famous Barbary great apes, that are no great apes in reality but tailless macaques. Further attractions are the Gibraltar Museum, the Moorish bathhouse from the 14th century, the dungeon of the Moorish castle (14th century), the Shrine of Our Lady of Europe (until 1462 a mosque, after that a chapel) with the portrait of the patroness of Gibraltar from the 15th century, the Europe Point that lies exactly 26km away from Africa and the almost completely preserved city walls spanning partly to the Moorish period as well as the Convent, a Franciscan monastery from the 16th century.
The free and Hanseatic city of Hamburg is as city-state, a state of the Federal Republic of Germany and the second largest in Germany with around 1,740,000 inhabitants and the sixth largest in the European Union. The oldest solid dwellings date back to the 4th century BC.
In 810 Charles the Great had a baptistery built here to proselytize the pagan north. For safety the "Hammaburg" is built. Decisively through the 1189 port rights conferred in 1189 the city developed in the Middle Ages into a flourishing commercial center and was with around 600 breweries as "brewery of the Hanse". In 1619 Hamburg was the largest city in Germany. But even after the decline of the Hanseatic League, the city remained the most important economic center of northern Germany. Even today Hamburg is largely autonomous as city-state and offers good the trade with its free port good conditions. The port of Hamburg ( "Hamburg Gateway to the World") is the largest seaport in Germany and, as measured by the container handling in 2004, the second largest in Europe and ninth largest worldwide. For some special goods, such as raw coffee or carpets, it is the largest transshipment port in the world.

La Gomera, the green island in the Canaries, is the second smallest of the Canary Islands with many facets: wild, rugged mountains, earthy valleys, tropical damp cloud forest and a fascinating ocean.
La Palma, officially called San Miguel de la Palma, is one of the seven major Canary Islands, located in the Atlantic Ocean. Around 86,000 people live on this island of volcanic origin, in whose southern part volcanoes are still active today. The last eruption took place near the present-day Los Canarios in 1971.
