To Donji Milanovac belongs a sandy beach on the banks of the Danube, which can hold up to 500 bathers. The area around Donji Milanovac is a paradise for passionate surfers. The favorable winds ensure that here each year in the last week of August takes place the "Kup Derdap", an internationally known surf championship. The Porec Bay, about 2 km downstream, is also an excellent terrain for rowing, because, unlike the valley of Donji Milanovac, it is protected by the winds. Also sport fishing can be operated here. Near the town, in the Djerdap gorge, lies the archaeological site Lepenki Vir. Here was a center of prehistoric culture in Europe, remnants of worship sites were discovered here dating between 7000-6000 BC. In the center of the excavated settlement was a big market around which the buildings were arranged in rows. In the adjacent museum, the most important finds are on display, as well as some copies of the most beautiful sculptures whose originals are at the National Museum in Belgrade. Since 1985 researchers digged out from the ground 136 objects.
