The Norwegian place Nordfjordeid is the center of the municipality Eid, which is bordered in the south by the northern fjord. The Nordfjord region lies north of the Sognefjord, south of Ålesund and northwest of the Jostedal Glacier. The fjord has a length of more than 100 kilometers, but has many tributaries which have their own name, so that only a small portion of the main fjord is actually called the Nordfjord. In the west, the region is dominated by the rugged Atlantic coast, in the east it leads to the region of eternal ice.

Cruise offers to the port Nordfjordeid, Nordfjord / Norway
Nordfjordeid has largely preserved the wooden houses of the 19th century and adapted to new-style building. At the turn of the months of May / June, every year the two-day Norse cultural festival takes place during which the Viking Age is the focus and old traditions of crafts, food, music and boat building are revived. A regatta of Viking ships and traditional west Norwegian rowing boats are one of the highlights. Visitors to the area can hike, dive, swim or fish (salmon and arctic trout ) in a charming landscape and ride on the fjord horses that have always had a great importance for the region.
