Peenemünde, Usedom / Germany
Peenemünde is located on the beautiful East Sea of Usedom, namely on the Peene, which is hardly a real river, but rather the connection of the Baltic Sea with a kind of lake, located between Usedom and the mainland. For a long time the area was a military restricted area, but today it is a open-air museum. The village itself has about 400 inhabitants and awaits with the typical wild nature of Usedom and beautiful beaches.
The museum, partly in the old power station, and a submarine in the harbor can be visited here because of the moving history (here the infamous V2 rocket was developed). There is also an interactive and beautiful physics museum. Otherwise, simply explore nature, stroll through the dunes and leave behind the historical village by taking a dip in the sea or scoffing a delicious fish.
