In old Saarbrücken there is a lot of greenery, also along the river Saar, as well as the most beautiful building in the city, the Ludwig Church on the square by the same name, a remarkable Baroque ensemble. To the east is the castle with a splendid castle garden, which offers magnificent views of the city. The castle itself is a building with various influences. It was built on the site of the historic Sarabrucca Castle in Baroque style and was finally extended in classical style. The Historic Museum is now located on the south wing in a modern glass complex, and the adventure museum for children opposite the castle in the old Town Hall.
On the right side of the Saar, there are numerous shops and cafes around the St. Johanner Markt, the Rathaus St. Johann, which commemorates the Munich Town Hall, and the church by the same name.
Those who have spent some time can visit the monastery church in the St. Arnual district or visit the "Gulliver World" with replicas of famous buildings. And even around Saarbrücken tempt attractions: visit one of the disused collieries or the famous and fantastically beautiful Saar Loop.
