Chania (Souda), Crete / Greece

Souda is a small town in Crete and also serves the capital of Chania as harbor. Thus, the city is strongly influenced by the harbor, which is of importance as industrial and naval port. In the Souda Bay there is abundant traffic, which does not really contribute to relaxation in Souda. Nevertheless, also beautiful places can be found in the cityand with a little distance you can also enjoy the industrial romanticism.

From the ruins of Aptera you have a great view of the bay and the high level of activity of the port, and moreover you can enjoy here the peace that also prevails around the cemetery. A monument in the form of a marble cross was placed here in memory of the people who died in the Battle of 1941.
Worth a trip is by all means also the town of Chania west of Souda, because here you will discover a beautiful old town with Venetian influences. Small villages along the Green Coast are among the other highlights of the really beautiful surrounding of Souda.
