The metropolis Kobe (about 1,5 milliom inhabitants) is located on the island of Honshu,and has one of the largest seaports of Japan. The port area is dominated by the Kobe Tower. The interesting monument is a 108-meter-high lattice tower in the form of a hyperboloid with an observation deck at an altitude of 90 meters.
