Skagway is a small town with about 800 inhabitants in the south of Alaska. Founded only at the end of the 19th century, it was one of the turning points of the great gold rush. The place is located at the Taiya Inlet and has a good railway connection. The famous businessman and gunslinger Soapy Smith held the city for a long time in suspense and was shot there too.
