West End, Bermudas / Bermudas

The Bermudas are located east of the USA in the middle of the Atlantic. The island group consists of an island chain of 150 small islands. On the islands there are numerous karst caves and subtropical vegetation with gum trees, mangroves and sage. On the Bermuda islands, the almost extinct bird species Bermuda stormbirds. In addition, the islands are surrounded by the northernmost coral reef on the planet.
Culturally, the island is strongly influenced by British history, which is still noticeable today in everyday life (for example, during parades).
West End with its former harbor Royal Naval Dockyard, as the name implies, lies in the west of Bermudas. The port itself was already important in the 17th century but lost importance after  World War II and was therefore closed to a large extent. Today there is still a ferry port, where larger cruise ships are dock.

In West End, the beaches are colored, the houses are painted cheerfully and you will always encounter the historical roots of the island. The Royal Naval Dockyard was restored just a few years ago and is now a popular attraction with information about history, shopping options and maritime museum.
