Yorkeys Knob is a small town on the east coast in the Australian state of Queensland. The municipality is located in Half Moon Bay, north of the city of Cairns. The name, Yorkeys Knob, 'so it is supposed is derived from a fisherman named Yorkey who has lived in the area in the 19th century in a hut above the bay. The lively town is now a popular travel destination, even with weekend visitors from the surrounding area.
